Dramania Music
    
Dramania regards music making as a core activity within all its activities.
We are particularly keen to employ regular live music support using instrumentalists and vocalists from the student body. From time to time Dramania students will give musical performances alongside professional musicians.
 
 Singing    
Our sincere belief is that singing is a form of acting, with a hugely accessible and compelling emotional component. Therefore, the Dramania approach to singing will focus on the delivery of lyrics.  
 Instrumentalists 
 
All instrumentalists are welcome, and will get an opportunity to perform if they have some competence. If available, the following student instrumentalists will be regularly employed to support dance, drama and singing activities and performances:

  • Pianists
  • Keyboard players
  • Classical guitarists
  • Electric (bass, lead, rhythm) guitarists
  • Drummers
  • Woodwind players? flute, clarinet, saxophone, recorder
  • Brass players? trumpet, tuba, tenor horn, trombone

An ability to read music is useful but not essential. Dramania encourages the acquisition of notation skills. Through ensembles, regular and intensive rehearsals and performances, your technical competence will be significantly enhanced. Understanding of chords and their progressions will be taught.

Repertoire is varied. Rap, rock, classical, romantic, jazz and world genres will be explored.


 Composing
 
 There will be opportunities to compose songs and instrumental numbers.

Some of these compositions will be performed to audiences.
